Bill's Lucky
Date of Birth: December 1, 2004
Date of Death: January 24, 2009
This site is dedicated the world's best rabbit. Bill's Lucky was my very first nice Holland Lop. I got him by luck at the PaSrba Show in 2005 from Bill Gerling of New York. That year Lucky won Best In Show for me at my local fair and I can honestly say he is the reason that I got hooked in the "rabbit world."

(Lucky being cooled off at the Baltimore & Howard Show)
Lucky was also very wisely named and could be said that he had "9 lives." Lucky had a heat stroke at my County Fair the year he won Best In Show, but the only thing I remember about it is that my Rabbit Leader dunked him under the water spout. Lucky also went on to have a case of wry neck and recovered fully. Another case of his "9 lives" was when him and a Nature Trail doe that I had at the time (The Nature Trail's Lucci) both started losing weight rapidly. Lucky was a tad better in health and I took him along to a show at State College, Pennsylvania. It was a double show, but after getting advice from a fellow breeder, we got the medicine recommended and left the show early. Lucci sadly died, but Lucky slowly got better until he fully recovered. To this day, I'm still not sure what they had.

(Lucky at the Pa Farm Show where he won BOV)
Lucky never lived near any of my other rabbits. Frankly, he couldn't stand any kind of heat. He always stayed in the house and was let out often to run around and jump in the air. It was his favorite thing to do. He was super friendly, loved to be petted, and never turned down a head rub.
When shown, he ALWAYS flip flopped Saynora’s Zavier. They were always going back and forth for who would win and under Eric Stewart Lucky ALWAYS placed second.
Sadly, Lucky ran out of his nine lives on January 24, 2009. He was just over 4 years old. He will be greatly missed and always considered as the rabbit who started it all.
